My Professional Profile and Process
With over 30 years’ experience, it’s been my privilege to assist a diverse group of over 9,000 persons presenting a with a variety of goals and in a wide variety of settings (hospitals, colleges, private office, rehabilitation centers, and residential facilities to name a few).
My approach to therapy is defined as “Integrative” which involves selecting models and methods from across therapy orientations to suit a particular client’s need. (Meta) Analyses demonstrate that tailoring therapy to the individual enhances its effectiveness, thus my choice and experience for selecting this approach. An example may be to combine Trauma-Informed approaches with Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Meditation, Tech-assisted therapy (e.g., Virtual Reality (VR) devises), and research supported Dreamwork to assist a client with PTSD.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions and services with you?
Clients can expect to achieve a clearer sense of direction, hope and optimism. This is done within an environment where they can feel “heard” and without judgment. While my approach tends to be more “directive” it is always driven by a client’s chosen goals and the strengths we identify in a client. If a client is unsure about their goals, I help identify and clarify them. I place an emphasis on being informative so that each client is in the best position possible to make an informed decision about our work and the process by which we do it.
All services are provided in the least restrictive manner possible and in as efficient a manner possible.
